On Saturday the 13th of June, two of our amazing pupils Ahurei Whatarangi and Aurora Tamaki had the opportunity to showcase their skills in rugby league at Mt Smart Stadium. This was a big night for the kids as it was their debut on the most inspiring patch of grass in New Zealand Rugby League and they could not wait to get on the field just before The Warriors. They even got to do guard of honour for the NSW Cup squad. Their team the Te Awamutu Firehawks 6’s took the field at 7.15pm to face the Glenora Bears. It was a fierce competition and the kids played tirelessly with Ahurei scoring two tries and Aurora scoring her first ever try! A further two tries for Te Awamutu secured the win for the young superstars. It was an amazing evening topped off with the kids cheering on The Warriors against the Roosters. They soaked up the atmosphere which created many dreams for our future stars. Well done guys you did an amazing job and we are very proud of you!
