Rooms 11 and 12 were lucky enough to get a visit from Private Hemi Flavell after our moving ANZAC service this morning.
It was amazing to see all of his ‘kit’ that he uses when he’s in the field. There is so much amazing equipment that helps soldiers survive in loads of different conditions. We loved seeing the way he could start a fire using a flint, and the way his wire saw made short work of a Jenga brick!
It made us think and wonder about what sort of army kit our soldiers must have had 100 years ago when they fought at Gallipoli…
